Sermon Title: "A Sign of Grace"

Theme: (This meditation will be based on 2Samuel 12:1-9 and Psalm 51:1-12

If one would take the time to compare the doctrines and beliefs of the many, many faith traditions in our world one would find many similarities. Some religions believe their gods came to earth in human form just like Jesus. Some believe in a resurrection. There are many other points that one might find in other religions that are similar to our beliefs as Christians. But there is one area that sets Christianity apart from all other faith traditions and that is 'Grace'.

King David found out about grace first hand. The story in 2 Samuel when Nathan points out David's sin with Bathsheba is a classic example of repentance and grace. David realized his sin and repented. Psalm 51 is a reflection of his heart. Ash Wednesday is about realizing our sin, repenting and seeking forgiveness, reconciliation with God. The cross of ashes on our foreheads isn't just a reflection of our sin and repentance but also a reflection of the unconditional love and grace of God.
